Tool Drop Anchorages
The final component of the 3 Point Tool Drop Prevention Model for securing tools is the anchorage, or anchor point. A tool anchorage can take many forms because of the wide variety of sizes and weights of tools, however, they can be generally broken into two types of anchorages for tools.
"Off-Body Anchors" which can be a fixed point or part of the surrounding structure for any tool over 5 lbs. (2.3 kg)
"On-Body" Anchors which are directly connected to your body for tools under 5 lbs.
On-Body Anchors
A tool drop component that is directly attached to the user's body or harness.
Rated for Tools Under 5 lbs.
Off-Body Anchors
A fixed point of the surrounding structure used as a safe tie-off location.
Rated for Tools Over 5 lbs.
